Previously, many folks considered features such as the touch screen interface, dual sim, Bluetooth, and web browsing as among the most important features on the import clones. I can remember when a 1.3 mega pixel digital camera was considered just fine and the “TV out feature” was acceptable rather than real time analog television.
Today, though, opinions and expectations have changed. Today’s consumers want the best that technology has to offer on all of the features. In terms of the built in digital camera, consumers often want the best, sharpest, highest resolution camera available with the most advanced editing features. In short, many aren’t just using their camera phones in a pinch when they’ve forgotten their digital cameras. They want to use them in place of their digital cameras.
In the same way that consumers don’t want to have to lug two phones around (thus the need for dual sim slots) or carry a separate media players (thus all of the phones that include MP3/ MP4), no one today wants to have to carry both a digital camera and a phone.
In response, clone manufacturers are starting to roll out high resolution models that aren’t based on the iPhone at all (other than the finger touch interface and the “everything in one phone” design.) The T200 is a perfect example of this. It also it contains everything that you could possibly need in a phone; including web browsing; MP3 / MP4; Bluetooth; dual sim slots; web cam; a built in portable analog television; FM radio; an e-book reader; and one of the best camera systems on the market; (boasting two digital cameras, including a full 5.0 mega pixels on the front (with 3 times zoom via protruding lens) and an electronic protruding telephoto lens.)
The camera on the back is your standard cell phone camera which will work in a pinch, but if you look at the phone from the front, you may assume that what you see is a high quality stand alone camera rather than a phone.
The T200 is no slouch in terms of gaming either. Since it supports Java and third party downloads, you can download thousands of games for it, including PPC 3D, JAVAQQ, and PPC QQ games.
This phone is dual band, which means it will work on the GSM 1800 and 900 bands most often used in Australia, Europe, the Middle East, Africa, and Asia. A quick check with your network or carrier should tell you if you are compatible. (If you’re looking for a tri band model which will work almost every where including the United States, I’d suggest the C9000, which is a similar phone and also has a 5.0 MP camera.)
The 200’s picture is surprisingly clear and sharp with good reception, even inside. One feature that is often overlooked on this phone is its full keyboard / scroll bar. Many of the dual sim clones rely on flat screens on which to message and text. Not every one likes this. Many are used to using real keys and want no substitute.
Price wise, the T200 camera phone is running in the upper $100 dollar range. This isn’t too bad in my opinion considering this price is significantly less than what you would pay for a 5.0 mega pixel camera, a portable MP3 / MP4 and a portable television if you bought them separately.
